Chicken Kebab / Gyros and Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

Our First Attempt

Chicken Kebab / Gyros

For months we had been looking through Pinterest at recipes, pinning the ones we liked to the board (roughly over 150 recipes to try). We decided that for 2022 that we would actually try and make some of those recipes.

For a healthier 2022? I think not. More so, we love food and being able to make recipes on our own and it is a good thing to learn.

We came across Chicken Kebab (or Gyros on some of the sites searched) recipes we have seen, so this seemed like a good place to start.

I originally found this Chicken Kebab/Gyros recipe from Pinterest, which was uploaded from Chefclub.tv under Kebab Party.

However, the problem with Chefclubs recipe is that it shows the ingredients to be used but not the measurements. I followed this recipe, but I had to modify the ingredients a little as I didn’t have 5 spice, a fresh lemon (we did have bottled lemon juice) and some other ingredients. Instead I added the following:

  • Ordinary Paprika
  • x2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice
  • Ground Garlic
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Dried Parsley
  • Blackened Cajun

Tzatziki Recipe

The recipe from Tasty (YouTube) is as follows:

  • 1 Large Cucumber – shredded
  • 2 cups Greek Yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic – minced
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

I, myself hate the measurement in cups (this is an American unit of measurement). I prefer metric measurements, as I can easily weigh 200g than figure out what cup I need to use. Also trying to calculate measurements from Imperial to Metric has never really worked for me, yet.

I would recommend this recipe to anyone interested in trying.
